Description:

We would like to get together researchers for a one-day workshop on modelling complexity of urban structure and dynamics in conjunction with the next AGILE conference, to be held on April 24 - 27, 2012, Avignon, France. We welcome papers that deal with urban phenomena using complex systems tools such as cellular automata, complex networks, agent-based modelling, and scaling/hierarchy.
We are particularly interested in the complexity modelling that involves BIG arrays of data, e.g., fineresolution geospatial data or digital traces of human activities. In addition to the dataset collected and maintained by government agencies, we encourage the use of open source and volunteered geographic information, contributed by individuals and supported by web 2.0 technologies. Both full papers (5000-6000 words) and extended abstracts (1000 words) are welcome.

Submission:

All submissions should be in English, single column, single-spaced with figures and tables within the text. The submissions in Microsoft Word 2003 format should contain authors’ affiliation and email, abstract (no longer than 150 words), and up to five keywords. To submit, please use EasyChair at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=agileworkshop2012
